Montreal accounting and consulting firm Fuller Landau LLP has acquired the assurance, consulting and tax specialty firm GDTS whose new corporate name is now “FLG Inc.”
The acquisition is part of Fuller Landau’s expansion strategy initiated three years ago with a view to becoming even more competitive in the Quebec marketplace. Fuller Landau’s long-term objective is to be the top consulting service provider to Quebec-based SMEs.
“GDTS is a first-rate firm that mirrors Fuller Landau’s vision,” declared Michael Newton, CA, managing partner of Fuller Landau LLP and co-managing partner of FLG Inc. “Both organizations offer strong family business consulting practices that are complementary, yet provide enough synergistic opportunities to increase the value to our clientele and to the marketplace.”
The integration of GDTS into the Fuller Landau family enhances the variety of services provided to clients and enriches the firm with added experience and support, strong in tax and assurance knowledge. As GDTS focuses on SR&ED government taxation programs and real estate taxation, the firm nicely blends talents with existing Fuller Landau cross-border taxation, sales and excise taxation, and corporate reorganization practices.
“Thanks to the acquisition and with the support of all our employees, we will have access to an international network through Fuller Landau which will help increase our service offering,” said Marc Girard, CGA, M. Fisc, Co-Managing Partner of FLG Inc. “We can take advantage of widespread support in terms of continuing education, recruiting, quality control and professional standards."
No job losses or office relocation will result from the acquisition.
Established for almost fifty years in Montreal, Fuller Landau LLP is ranked among the top fifteen employers in the city with more than one hundred employees working at the downtown head office in Place du Canada, FL Integlia in Saint-Léonard and FLG Inc. in Saint-Lambert collectively.
