Now that’s an ROI
Lady luck loves Vancouver CA Jennifer Tokarek. The Ernst & Young
tax manager turned a $400 buy-in into $6,000of prize winnings at the Women’s Poker Classic held earlier this
year in Langley,BC. She placed sixth in the $120,000no-limit 300-player tournament, which raised more than
$30,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
As if that wasn’t enough good fortune, Tokarek’s mother, Lillian, finished ninth with $3,200. The duo made
history as the first mother and daughter to play the same final table in a Canadian Poker Tour event. “To
have been a part of such a wonderful event and played against Canada’s best women poker players has been a
dream come true,” says the junior Tokarek.
