Toronto the new New York?

Start spreading the news — Hogtown may soon outperform such metropolises as New York, Paris, London and Tokyo, according to a global study by the Partnership for New York City and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The study examined11 major cities using nine indicators and 32 variables, such as broadband capacity, transportation infrastructure, diversity and working-age population. Toronto was second only to Singapore for ease of doing business, earning high marks for its corporate tax rate, work/life benefits and few restrictions on hiring and firing. Toronto also ranked fourth for cost and fifth in the area of intellectual capital, based on its number of top 500 universities and high percentage ofits population who have completed post-secondary education (see chart below). Now if it could only produce more Nobel Prize winners....
