Update to Form T1013

The Canada Revenue Agency has updated Form T1013, which taxpayers complete when they are looking for an individual or a business to represent them when dealing with the CRA. Frequently asked questions on paper-based authorizations can be found on the Represent a Client site: www.cra-arc.gc.ca/eservices/tax/representative/faqsauth-e.html. The frequently asked questions detail known issues with which representatives and the Canada Revenue Agency had to deal during the past year, as well as specific T1013 processing issues. There is also information on that site on how an authorization is processed for online access, using a representative’s identifier or a business number. An updated version of Form T1013, called authorizing or cancelling a representative, and new information pertaining to the signature date can be found on the CRA website: www.cra-arc.gc.ca.
