President and CEO,
Blue Moose Promotions

Company profile: Blue Moose is a Canadian owned and operated company assisting organizations — such as the University of British Columbia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia — in promoting their image, brand and message through promotional products and marketing solutions. Founded in 2004, Blue Moose is privately held and based in Port Coquitlam, BC, with a second office in Oakville, Ont..

Hot factor: Member of the Promotional Products Association of Canada, the company’s revenue for its first year of business (2004) was about $250,000, doubling to approximately ,000 in its second year (2005). Blue Moose attracts big corporations such as CIBC, IKEA and the City of Vancouver. The company was recently ranked by 2010 Legacies Now as one of Canada’s top four promotional material suppliers.

Cool projects: Flavoured lip balm, imprinted drumsticks, electric lawn mowers, chocolate CDs, flower seeds and magic eight balls aside, Blue Moose’s custom-made and often interactive products recently garnered the attention of the Kentucky Derby. The company also recently created antique silver seven-inch keys for the city of Port Moody, BC.

In his own words: “People always think promotional products are just pens and coffee mugs, but we get into products such as java jackets and microwaveable popcorn. Our first priority though is customer service. We get excited over every order, whether it’s for a national campaign or an order for 12 T-shirts. Our focus is, and will remain, customer service.”
