Feltham makes hall of fame

Gerald Feltham, FCA, a retired professor at the University of British Columbia and one of accounting’s most distinguished researchers, was recently inducted into the Accounting Hall of Fame.

Established in 1950 at Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business, the hall of fame honours accountants who work in academe, accounting practices, government and business.

Feltham, who became a CA in 1960 and a fellow in 1996, has authored or co-authored 28 major papers and four influential books, including Economics of Accounting (with P.O. Christensen) and Cost Determination: A Conceptual Approach (with Joel Demski). Other recent kudos include a 2004 lifetime achievement award from the BC institute, and he was named a fellow of the Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Royal Society of Canada in 2003.
